Experience

The values important to this field have been instilled in me from a very young age, as I grew up in a family of helping professionals. Empathy, acceptance, understanding and compassion are all traits that are core to who I am, and have naturally led me down the path of being a counsellor. I come to this work with a Bachelors of Arts from Simon Fraser University, with a major in Psychology and minor in Counselling & Human Development. I also hold a Masters of Social Work from the University of British Columbia, and I am a Non-Practising Registered Social Worker with the BC Association of Social Workers.

Coming from a social work background, this education has allowed me to view healing holistically, and to pay attention to how societal structures, norms and values impact the lives of my clients as well as what I bring to the counselling room. My experience includes extensive work in group and foster homes, counselling to youth and members of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community, as a social worker in the Provincial Specialized Eating Disorders Program at BC Children’s Hospital, and as the clinical coordinator at the Vancouver Black Therapy & Advocacy Foundation. In my free time, you can find me reading, travelling to new places, listening to live music, and spending time with the incredible people in my circle.

I have extensive experience delivering workshops, including on topics such as:

  • Supporting loved ones with their mental health

  • Sexuality

  • Understanding emotions & coping

  • Healthcare navigation
